Vinted Users Voice Displeasure Over Size Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing.
The second-hand shopping app has updated its size classifications for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Social Media Reaction
Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.
The company said the revised method more closely matches similar services.
It has advised users to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated.
Measurement Approach Changes
Earlier, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Shopper Experiences
Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
A different member, located in Scotland, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she stated.
Manual Updates
Another shopper, from Derby, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she said.
Service Background
The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: previously, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
